How long does it take to become menopausal?

Menopause is generally considered to be the absence of menstruation for a period of 12 consecutive months, excluding pregnancy. Menopause usually occurs between the ages of 45-53 years old and is usually caused by the failure of the ovaries, which results in the absence of menstruation. Menopause is considered to have occurred when a woman has not had a period for 12 consecutive months, counting from the first day of her last menstrual period. Menopause is also categorized as either natural menopause or artificial menopause. Natural menopause is a physiological phenomenon that almost every woman will go through. As she ages, her ovaries gradually fail and her menstruation will gradually stop. Artificial menopause is usually due to certain pathologic factors, and after medication or surgical treatment, menstruation no longer occurs. If menopause occurs naturally without any special symptoms, no special treatment is needed; if there is any abnormality, it is recommended to consult a doctor in time to find out the cause and treat the symptoms.
