Thyroid nodule on the right side 1.5cm x 0.8cm, do I need treatment?

Whether some of the right thyroid nodules 1.5*0.8cm need drug or surgical treatment should be judged according to the classification of the nodule and the puncture result. If the TI-RADS classification of the thyroid nodule is 2 or 3, and there is no obvious pressure symptoms, the patient can only follow up and observe, no special treatment is needed; if there are pressure symptoms, surgery or ablation can be used to reduce the pressure symptoms; if there are symptoms of hyperthyroidism, the patient can take antithyroid drugs such as methimazole; if there are symptoms of hypothyroidism, the patient can take drugs such as levothyroxine. If the thyroid nodule is a category 4 or 5 nodule, a fine needle biopsy is needed because the longest diameter of the nodule is 1.5cm. If the puncture biopsy is benign, no special treatment is needed; if the puncture biopsy is malignant, radical surgery and radionuclide treatment should be performed. It is recommended to consult the doctor in time, make a comprehensive judgment according to the description of the imaging report, and follow the doctor’s instructions for further examination and treatment.
