Are intrahepatic hypodensity and hypoechoic mass the same thing?

Intrahepatic hypodensity and intrahepatic hypoechoic mass are two completely different descriptions, one describing the CT findings and the other the ultrasound findings. 1. Intrahepatic hypodensity is usually one of the descriptions of the findings returned by CT and is likely to be a space-occupying lesion in the liver, which may be benign or malignant, and usually requires enhanced CT or pathology to make a definitive diagnosis. 2. An intrahepatic hypoechoic mass is usually described as one of the returned findings after ultrasound and may be a fatty liver, liver cyst, liver tumor, etc., again requiring enhanced scanning, MRI, or pathology to make a definitive diagnosis. Thus hypodensity and hypoechoic masses are not the same, and are descriptions of diseases that belong to two different modalities of examination.
