Elevated levels of anti-streptococcal hemolysin “O” indicate infection with group A hemolytic streptococci. It has been found that many diseases are associated with infection with group A hemolytic streptococci, so elevated levels of antistreptococcal hemolysin “O” can be harmful. Anti-streptococcal hemolysin “O” is an antibody produced by the body after infection with group A hemolytic streptococci. It has been found that the occurrence of rheumatic fever, rheumatic heart disease, scarlet fever, infective endocarditis, streptococcal nephritis and other diseases are related to human infection with group A hemolytic streptococci. Such diseases can cause multi-system damage to the heart, kidneys, respiratory tract, joints, skin mucosa, etc. if left untreated, and are hazardous. Therefore, detection of anti-streptococcal hemolysin “O” level can help in the diagnosis and treatment of these diseases. However, elevated anti-streptococcal hemolysin O does not always cause discomfort in patients. However, many patients with group A hemolytic streptococcal infections have a mild infection that is effectively controlled by the body’s immune system and does not cause serious illness. Although the level of anti-streptococcal hemolysin “O” is found to be elevated in the blood test of such patients, there is almost no discomfort, and therefore the danger to human body is not great. Therefore, once the level of anti-streptococcal hemolysin “O” is found to be elevated, there is no need to panic, you should immediately go to the hospital to improve the examination and further search for the cause.
