How to take Codonopsis

Dangshen can be decocted and taken internally, or boiled in a paste and incorporated into pills and powders.
Codonopsis is the dried root of Codonopsis pilosula, Codonopsis pilosula, Codonopsis pilosula, or Codonopsis pilosula. It is sweet in flavor and flat in nature. It belongs to the spleen and lung meridian. It can strengthen the spleen and benefit the lung, nourish blood and promote the production of body fluid. It is used in treating deficiency of spleen and lung qi, poor appetite and tiredness, cough and shortness of breath, deficiency of qi and blood, yellowish color (yellowish color without luster), palpitation and shortness of breath, thirst due to injury of fluid, and internal heat and thirst (internal fever accompanied with symptoms such as overeating, drinking and urinating).
Codonopsis with Rhizoma Atractylodis Macrocephalae enhances the effect of tonifying Qi, strengthening the spleen and drying dampness. It is suitable for weak spleen qi (weakness of spleen qi) resulting in low food intake, loose stools (thin and unformed feces), vomiting and diarrhea, etc. Codonopsis with Astragalus enhances the effect of tonifying the spleen and benefiting the lungs. It is suitable for deficiency of lung, spleen and qi, shortness of breath, and loose stools with little food.
Codonopsis should not be used with quinoa and wulingzhi. It is recommended that patients use the medicine under the guidance of a doctor and do not take it on their own.
