Swelling of the foot after trauma first requires braking and x-rays to determine if there is a local fracture. If there is a comminuted fracture, it usually needs to be fixed in a cast or even surgically treated. After excluding the fracture, consider soft tissue injury, then brake and rest, first use cold compresses, 1-2 days after the local injury capillary bleeding stops, you can consider using hot compresses, or blood relaxing drugs for external use, so as to promote the absorption of local tissue bleeding and exudate. After the above treatment, if the local swelling or pain does not disappear after a week or so, and the fracture is excluded. Further MRI examination is needed to understand whether there is ligament damage, and even surgery is needed in severe cases.
