If a baby is diagnosed with sericea, the disease will remain with the baby for life and will not disappear with age. Fava bean disease is a genetic disease, mainly due to autosomal dominant inheritance, partly due to gene mutation, mainly due to the lack of glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase in the body, causing the lysis and rupture of red blood cells resulting in hemolytic anemia, mainly seen in the southern regions of Guangxi, Guangdong and Guizhou in China. Children with fava bean disease are advised to avoid taking fava beans and related soy products, as well as drugs that may cause hemolytic anemia. Once diagnosed, the disease is lifelong and may be passed on to the next generation.
