High cholesterol generally has no special symptoms. Some patients may have manifestations such as yellow tumor, corneal arch, and wandering polyarthritis. 1. Xanthoma: It manifests as limited abnormal skin elevation with yellow, orange or brownish red color, mostly nodular, plaque or papule-like with soft texture. It is mainly due to the phagocytosis of lipid macrophages (foam cells) in the dermis accumulation formation. Commonly found around the eyelids, tendon areas, extensor side of the body, palms of the hands and so on. 2. Corneal arch: also known as senile ring. Most commonly seen in familial hypercholesterolemia. 3. Wandering polyarthritis: Wandering polyarthritis can occur in pure familial hypercholesterolemia. High cholesterol should go to the hospital and be treated under the guidance of a doctor.
