Smooth muscle sarcoma is mostly found in the soft tissues of the trunk, and the common symptoms are:
1. nodules: single or several, not more than five centimeters in diameter, hard texture, can be higher than the skin.
2. Pain: the tumor has obvious pain locally.
3. Nerve compression: tumor enlargement will compress adjacent nerves, blood vessels, digestive tract, etc., causing corresponding compression symptoms.
4. Hepatomegaly: smooth muscle sarcoma located in the upper part of inferior vena cava can block the hepatic vein and cause hepatomegaly.
5. Jaundice: smooth muscle sarcoma located in the upper part of inferior vena cava can block the hepatic vein, causing bilirubin circulation obstruction and jaundice.
6. Abdominal fluid accumulation: smooth muscle sarcoma can block the inferior vena cava, resulting in obstruction of blood return and causing abdominal fluid accumulation.
7. Lower limb edema: smooth muscle sarcoma located in the lower part of inferior vena cava can block the lower limb vein and cause lower limb edema.
Smooth muscle sarcoma is a mesenchymal malignant tumor originated from smooth muscle. All tissues or organs with smooth muscle may have smooth muscle sarcoma, and the more common smooth muscle sarcoma may occur in skeletal smooth muscle, vascular smooth muscle, gastrointestinal smooth muscle, uterine smooth muscle and so on.
Smooth muscle sarcoma generally grows rapidly, has high malignancy, and is not very sensitive to radiotherapy and chemotherapy, so the prognosis of patients is generally not very good; although it can be surgically resected at an early stage, the recurrence rate after surgery is relatively high.
It is recommended to consult the hospital and standardize the treatment.
