Can you sleep in a bed you’ve slept in with tuberculosis?

It is recommended that beds and their surroundings that have been slept in by patients with active tuberculosis be sterilized before use to avoid the spread of Mycobacterium tuberculosis. Tuberculosis is a disease caused by infection of the organism with Mycobacterium tuberculosis, which can be transmitted through the respiratory tract. Patients with active TB can expel pathogens to the outside world. These expelled pathogens may be present on the surface of objects, bedding, or in the form of aerosols in the air. When a susceptible person enters such a contaminated environment or uses contaminated bedding, there is a possibility of being infected, so it is recommended to disinfect before living there. Disinfection can be done by spraying with chlorine-containing disinfectants, and bedding and other items should be disinfected, washed, and thoroughly dried before use.
