Why is long-range EEG monitoring necessary?

Epileptic discharges are highly random in nature. Conventional EEG can only record 20-30 minutes, and it is often difficult to capture abnormal brain discharges. Long-range video EEG monitoring is performed by video recording while doing EEG, and the EEG and video images of each moment are stood up one by one by software, which can watch the simultaneous video recording of the patient’s seizure while looking at the EEG, which greatly improves the recognition of seizure events, can more easily shave off the interference of artifacts and greatly improve the positive rate of the examination. It is currently the most reliable test for diagnosing epilepsy and is especially suitable for the diagnosis of difficult epilepsy cases or for the preoperative evaluation and positioning of patients with intractable epilepsy for surgical treatment.
