The drug residue can be distinguished by ultrasound and blood test for human chorionic gonadotropin to distinguish whether it is meconium or stasis.
1. Ultrasound: In the ultrasound examination, if the drug abortion residue is meconium, it usually shows strong echoes in the uterine cavity, or uneven echoes. If the residue in the uterine cavity is stasis, it is usually manifested as intrauterine fluid dark area.
2. Blood test for human chorionic gonadotropin: after medication abortion, especially half a month after medication abortion, the value of human chorionic gonadotropin will be on the high side when the residue in the uterine cavity is ecchymosis, but if it is stasis, the value of human chorionic gonadotropin will be on the high side when the blood test is done. However, if it is stasis, the value will not be elevated and is within the normal range.
In order to distinguish whether the drug residue is meconium or petechiae, it is recommended to combine the results of relevant tests with a comprehensive judgment after the doctor’s visit.
