What to do about infant rubella

There is no specific antiviral therapy for rubella, and infants with rubella are mainly treated with general treatment and symptomatic treatment.
1. General treatment:
(1) Take care of the child to rest in bed, give him a light and easily digestible diet, and replenish water.
(2) Contact isolation until 5 days after the appearance of the rash, except for the caregiver to minimize contact with the child, especially children and pregnant women.
2. Symptomatic treatment: If there is persistent high fever or ultra-high fever, physical cooling can be used, and oral antipyretic drugs, such as ibuprofen suspension, can be given according to the age of the child. If the child’s rash is severe or itching is intense, you can apply a weak sebaceous steroid cream, such as hydrocortisone.
It is recommended to go to the hospital for treatment under the guidance of a doctor.
