Separation of the left renal collecting system by 0.8cm indicates the presence of mild hydronephrosis in the left kidney, which is mainly caused by urinary obstruction. It can be treated by relieving obstruction, lithotripsy treatment or even surgical treatment, including placing ureteral stent treatment, under the advice of a doctor.
Hydronephrosis may be caused by the dilatation of the renal pelvis and calyces due to urinary obstruction, and a large amount of urine in the calyces cannot be discharged. With the gradual aggravation of hydronephrosis, patients may experience back pain and discomfort, difficulty in urination, oliguria or even anuria, as well as urinary tract infection and renal colic. Patients are advised to go to the hospital to relieve the obstruction in time.
For patients with early stage of hydronephrosis, the treatment can be done through surgical treatment, such as placing ureteral stenting under doctor’s advice, to correct the abnormality of renal pelvic-ureteral connection or to release the obstruction factors in order to maximize the restoration of renal function of the patients.
It is recommended that patients go to the hospital in a timely manner, complete the examination under the guidance of the doctor, and actively treat the cause of the disease to avoid aggravation of the condition.
