Fengchi acupoint is an acupoint of the foot-shaoyang bile meridian, located below the occipital bone, in the depression between the upper end of the sternocleidomastoid muscle and the upper end of the trapezius muscle. It has the efficacy of waking up the brain and opening the orifices, dispersing wind and clearing heat, and can be used for tinnitus, deafness, redness and swelling of the eyes, epistaxis (nosebleed), nasal congestion, headache, vertigo, stroke, epilepsy, fever, and strong pain in neck, etc. It is often used in combination with Tai Chong acupoint.
It is often combined with Taichong acupoint to soften the liver and quench wind, with Daxi vertebrae acupoint to dispel wind and relieve epidemics, and with Ruigu acupoint to treat Shaoyang headache.
