Do you still need to treat the root of the tooth?

Whether or not a tooth can still be treated with only the root left depends on the condition of the remaining root. If the remaining root is short and has a tendency to loosen, the root has no treatment value and will need to be extracted and fixed or removable restorations will be applied to repair the missing tooth. If the remaining root is long and strong, the root can be utilized and proper root canal treatment can be performed. After root canal treatment, a metal or fiber core is placed in the corresponding pulp cavity, and a porcelain or all-ceramic crown is placed on the core using the crown restoration method, and the root can be utilized to continue to serve the chewing function.
