What is the best diet for diabetes?

For type 1 diabetic patients, the measures of appropriate total calories, food composition, and regular meal arrangement are combined with insulin therapy. For type 2 diabetic patients, especially those who are obese or overweight, attention should be paid in terms of developing total calories, carbohydrate content, protein and fat ratio, and reasonable distribution. For carbohydrates, it is advocated to consume ^made rice, noodles and mixed grains, and to avoid glucose, sucrose and honey (all kinds of candies, sweet pastry cookies, ice cream, sugar-containing drinks, etc.). Protein should be adjusted according to the condition of the kidneys, and it is best to ensure that 30% of the protein is animal protein, and the daily intake of cholesterol should be below 300mg. Eat more soluble edible fiber foods, such as green leafy vegetables, legumes, root tubers, cereals, and fruits with low sugar content. Limit alcohol consumption and salt intake should be limited to less than 10g per day. To sum up, it is low salt, low fat, low cholesterol, low sugar, coarse grains, and vegetables.
