What is lumbar 5 occult spina bifida?

Lumbar 5 occult spina bifida is a congenital developmental abnormality caused by stimulation or absence of certain essential factors during pregnancy. Most cases are caused by a deficiency of folic acid in the early stages of pregnancy, which is an important ingredient in the formation of the neural tube, and a lack of this ingredient can result in abnormal development of the neural tube, ultimately leading to spina bifida. Of course, there are two types of spina bifida: overt spina bifida and occult spina bifida, and the distinction between them depends on the overall development of the condition, while overt spina bifida is characterized by obvious symptoms such as incontinence of urine and faeces, skin sensory disorders in the perineal area, and numbness and weakness of both lower limbs. Hidden spina bifida has no special clinical symptoms and does not require special treatment. The most common occurrence of spina bifida is in the lumbar and sacral regions, which are relatively easy to occur.
