The tilted mouth and eyes usually do not heal on their own. Treatment should be given promptly after the onset of the disease. The cause of the disease should be analyzed and the corresponding etiological treatment should be carried out, while nutritional nerve treatment can be given, commonly used drugs include vitamin B1, vitamin B6, adenosine cobalamin and methylcobalamin; acupuncture treatment, rehabilitation treatment and physical therapy should be given early after the condition is stabilized. The common diseases that cause aberrant mouth and eyes include idiopathic facial nerve palsy and cerebrovascular disease, mainly seen in lesions of the brain. Idiopathic facial nerve palsy can cause the patient to have a crooked mouth and eyes, clinically known as peripheral facial palsy. Treatment for this patient includes early application of glucocorticoids, usually dexamethasone or prednisone, as well as nutritional nerve therapy and rehabilitation, acupuncture and physical therapy. If it is caused by cerebrovascular disease, timely hospitalization for comprehensive treatment is warranted. If the patient is suitable for thrombolysis in the early stage, intravenous thrombolysis can be performed, and if not suitable for thrombolysis, oral aspirin antiplatelet aggregation should be taken as early as possible; meanwhile, drugs to improve blood circulation and neuroprotection can be applied for treatment.
