My experience with mastocytosis treatment

First of all, it is important to clarify that breast hyperplasia is not a tumor! Breast hyperplasia is a benign breast disease (BBD) resulting from a malfunction of the normal developmental and degenerative processes of the mammary gland. Note that it is a benign disease! It is a disturbance of the normal structure of the breast due to varying degrees of hyperplasia and dysplasia of the main and interstitial stroma of the breast. Its pathologic pattern is diverse and complex, so the clinical nomenclature is not uniform. There are breast adenopathy, breast cystic hyperplasia, breast fibrocystic hyperplasia, sclerosing breast adenopathy and so on, and clinically it is more recognized as breast hyperplasia. The cause of the disease is related to endocrine disorders (estrogen/progesterone dynamic balance disorders) caused by mental stress. The main symptoms are breast swelling and pain during menstruation (young women) and non-menstruation (middle-aged women), sometimes the pain can involve the opposite breast, back, etc.; secondly, nodules or lumps appear in the mammary glands, and the mammary glands feel toughened and lumpy with tenderness when touched by the hand; in some cases, there is nipple overflow (non-lactation). Color ultrasound is preferred for diagnosis, followed by molybdenum X-ray film. So how to treat breast hyperplasia? It should be a combination of Chinese and Western medicine. First, psychological treatment: the first thing is to relieve the pressure of life and work, participate in outdoor sports or recreational activities, to eliminate the worries, so that the mood is relaxed, peace of mind, the symptoms will be relieved a lot. Second, the combination of traditional Chinese and Western medicine drug treatment: it is advisable to choose the Chinese herbs that dredge the liver and regulate the qi, activate blood circulation and remove blood stasis, soften the hardness and disperse the knots, such as Chaihu, Paeoniae Alba, Xiangshu, Orange Leaf, Salviae, Dilong, and so on, and the proprietary Chinese medicines, such as Masturbation Elimination, Breast Enlargement Ning, and Jiaweizhi Yiqiuwan. Iodine, estrogen receptor blocker triamcinolone acetonide (tamoxifen) can also be used. Hormones are effective but not preferred because of their side effects. Surgery: Because of the diffuse nature of breast hyperplasia, localized surgical excision cannot solve the root of the problem. The disease itself has no indication for surgical treatment, and the main purpose of surgical intervention is to avoid missed or misdiagnosed breast cancer. Therefore, the current consensus is that hyperplasia of a single lobe in the outer upper or inner upper quadrant of the breast should be treated with prophylactic excision of the hyperplastic lobe or quadrant, as this is the best site for breast cancer, and that surgical intervention may be indicated for breast masses with a high degree of suspicion of malignant tendency. Fine needle aspiration cytopathology can be performed on large suspected lumps, as it may not always penetrate the exact site of malignancy, has a low diagnostic yield, and has the potential to implant metastasis or stimulate hematogenous or lymphatic metastasis of tumor cells along the perforated needle tract, which is not recommended unless there is a quick and seamless interface with surgery. The ultimate diagnosis of a breast enlargement combined with a lump is the pathologic diagnosis of a complete removal of the lump, which is the gold standard! Ladies with breast enlargement should not be alarmed, as clinical statistics show that only a very small percentage of breast enlargement can be transformed into breast cancer. As long as you pay attention to it, go to the hospital for regular checkups (usually once a year is enough), detect pre-cancerous lesions in time and dispose of them in time, you can avoid unfortunate occurrences.
