What is a bladder tumor?

Bladder tumors account for a large proportion of urological tumors, but most of them have a good prognosis as long as they are detected in time. Therefore, early detection and diagnosis of bladder cancer is especially important. Detection: When there is painless meatus hematuria, one should be alert to the possibility of bladder tumor, especially the elderly should pay more attention to it. Diagnosis: 1. painless carnal hematuria, there may be symptoms such as pain in bladder area, difficulty in urination, etc. 2. early stage can be without any physical signs and no detection on physical examination; late stage can be felt as a mass in bladder area 3. the best way to confirm the diagnosis of bladder tumor is: cystoscopy, which is the only way to detect tumor in early stage. 4.B ultrasound, CT, urine cytology and other auxiliary examinations are helpful for diagnosis and clinical staging to determine the treatment method. Treatment: For early lesions, we recommend surgery as the best treatment, which includes transurethral electrodesiccation or open surgery. After surgery, a urinary catheter will need to be left in place and a continuous bladder irrigation will be performed for several days, during which the irrigation fluid may be bloody, you do not need to worry, this does not lose much blood. Bladder and urethral cramps are also common, i.e., bouts of pain in the lower abdomen, perineum, and urethra, which are caused by irritation from the urinary catheter and douche fluid; just talk to your doctor about it and give you symptomatic pain relief. You can be discharged after the removal of the urinary catheter after surgery. It can be combined with bladder irrigation chemotherapy and other methods to prevent or delay recurrence more effectively, but the patient needs to cooperate and insist on coming for treatment every week during the course. For those who are inoperable in the late stage or too poor to tolerate surgery, arterial catheter chemotherapy can be used for palliative treatment. Prognosis: Patients who can be operated in early stage, as long as the pathological grading of the cancer is not very malignant (low differentiation), the prognosis is generally better, and if it can be combined with postoperative bladder perfusion chemotherapy, the effect is even better. It is important to note that bladder tumor is easy to recur, but don’t be discouraged, as long as it is detected and treated in time, it still has good efficacy, so it is very important to insist on regular review after discharge (usually every 3 months for 1-2 years and every 6 months afterwards).
