There are several common causes of hemilateral lumbar pain: 1. Lumbar intervertebral disc herniation. Degeneration of the disc, rupture of the fibrous ring, compression of the nerve root on one side, and the appearance of lumbar pain on one side, accompanied by pain, numbness and weakness of the ipsilateral lower limb. Intervertebral disc CT or MRI can clearly diagnose. 2. Lumbar gluteal myofasciitis. Maintaining a posture for a long time causes chronic inflammation of the muscles and musculoskeletal attachment points. Unilateral and bilateral lumbar pain can occur. The pain is usually dominated by soreness and swelling, and there can be a distinct pain cycle. 3, urinary stones. Simple kidney stones are usually asymptomatic and may occasionally feel swelling and pain in the lower back. If a ureteral stone on one side causes renal colic, there can be severe pain in the lower back unilaterally. 4.Shingles. Neuralgic pain caused by herpes zoster is also relatively common. A red papule with blisters on the skin of the lower back may be seen, and antiviral treatment is effective.
