Sanghuang has the efficacy of activating blood circulation, stopping bleeding, resolving drinking and stopping diarrhea. Sanghuang is usually taken in decoction, the dosage is generally 6-15g, but the specific dosage of the drug should be decided by the doctor according to the patient’s condition.
Sanghuang is bitter in taste and cold in nature; it belongs to the liver and kidney meridians. It is often used in the treatment of hematochezia, hemorrhagic drenching (the appearance of blood in the urine with pain), prolapse of anus and diarrhea of blood, belt, menstrual closure, diarrhea of spleen deficiency, scrofula (mainly refers to the cervical lymph nodes tuberculosis) ulceration, and so on.
