What causes a baby to get a pinprick?

Needle eye in babies mostly refers to granuloma, which is mainly caused by bacterial infection. Poor hygiene, low immunity and bad habits are the main triggers for needle eye in babies. Pinkeye is the common name for granuloma, a purulent infection of the eyelid glands, usually caused by bacterial infection, with Staphylococcus aureus being the most common causative agent. In children with poor skin hygiene around the eyes, bacterial infections are more likely to occur, inducing the appearance of wheals. If the child’s immunity is low, he or she is also susceptible to bacterial infection of the eyelid glands, especially for those with immune system disorders, and prolonged illness can lead to a further decline in the child’s immunity. For some babies who like to rub their eyes, it is easy for hand bacteria to infect the eye tissues and induce granuloma. It is recommended that patients with wheals should seek medical attention to evaluate their condition and follow the doctor’s instructions for treatment.
