Abdominal pain during exercise may be caused by physiological reasons such as normal intestinal reflexes or pathological reasons such as irritable bowel syndrome and chronic cholecystitis.
1. Physiological reasons: during exercise, the blood circulation of the whole body is accelerated, but the blood supply to the intestinal tract will be reduced a lot, and there will be ischemia and hypoxia, which is generally normal, the human body can be adjusted, and it will not have a great impact. However, if it is a violent high-intensity exercise, spasmodic peristalsis may occur and abdominal pain may occur.
2. Pathologic causes:
(1) Irritable bowel syndrome: in the case of irritable bowel syndrome, the intestines are easily provoked, i.e., normal stimuli will also cause a great response. Blood flow is accelerated during exercise, muscle blood supply increases, and intestinal blood supply decreases, resulting in intestinal ischemia and hypoxia, which will stimulate abnormal peristalsis of the intestines and produce abdominal pain.
(2) Chronic cholecystitis: Chronic cholecystitis usually has no obvious symptoms, but when exercising, the blood flow supplies more blood to the muscles, and the blood supply to the gallbladder decreases, resulting in ischemia and hypoxia, causing abdominal pain.
The cause of abdominal pain during exercise alone cannot be accurately determined, but also needs to be combined with the characteristics of the medical history and other test results to make an accurate judgment, it is recommended to clarify the cause of the disease under the guidance of a doctor.
