After craniotomy for meningioma, the numbness of a hard bag at the wound may be caused by poor healing of incision, local infection, intra-incision hemorrhage and other factors, and the patient needs to seek medical treatment in time.
1. Poor healing of incision: there may be local subcutaneous effusion, mostly watery sac-like bulge, puncture aspiration can be seen as cerebrospinal fluid-based fluid, need to incise and drain the effusion or puncture aspiration, etc., and can comply with the doctor’s prescription of topical mupirocin ointment and other drugs to prevent infection.
2. Local infection: in addition to the bulge, often accompanied by obvious redness, swelling, heat and pain and other symptoms, serious patients may have an elevated body temperature, need to be cleaned up as soon as possible, and can be prescribed antibiotics, such as ceftriaxone and so on.
3. Intra-incision hemorrhage: before incision suture, there are bleeding points with incomplete hemostasis, which will lead to persistent bleeding and appearing of hard pack, and can be considered to re-stop hemostasis and suture.
When there is bulging at the wound after craniotomy for meningioma, it is necessary to seek medical treatment as soon as possible to clarify its cause and actively dispose of it accordingly.
