Proper care after nephrectomy can speed up wound healing. First of all, bed rest should be taken for at least 3 days after nephrectomy, and avoid going down to the ground too early, because ligature is needed to stop bleeding after nephrectomy, and too early activity will lead to bleeding. Secondly, fasting is needed after nephrectomy, you must wait for the gastrointestinal tract to move on its own before eating, otherwise it will lead to bloating or constipation. Finally, after nephrectomy, you should pay attention to observe the amount of urine, when one side of the kidney is removed the remaining healthy kidney can be compensated, but there are cases that the remaining kidney is poorly compensated. If there is abnormality then there will be decreased urine output and edema, nausea and vomiting. After nephrectomy, if the patient needs to get up then a companion is needed to protect the waist and assist the patient to get up, to avoid over exertion by oneself which may lead to wound dehiscence and bleeding.
