Best time for cervical cerclage

Cervical cerclage is recommended between 14 and 16 weeks of pregnancy, or about a week before a late miscarriage is about to occur. Cervical cerclage is a surgical treatment used to prevent symptoms of late miscarriage due to cervical incompetence and relaxation of the cervical opening. Before the procedure, a routine checkup is required, and if the patient has a serious inflammatory gynecological disease such as vaginitis or cervicitis, the inflammatory disease needs to be treated before the procedure is performed. After surgery, patients need to rest in bed for about 1-2 weeks, and sexual stimulation is absolutely prohibited for a short time after surgery. Generally, the sutures should be removed promptly when the full-term pregnancy is approaching, which is around 37-38 weeks.
