Two months after the ACL reconstruction surgery, the pain in straightening the leg may be caused by the damage to the hamstring muscle, muscle injury or improper exercise in the later stage.
1. When patients take their own tendons for ACL reconstruction surgery, the popliteus muscle, which is the tendon of the thigh, is usually chosen, and there is a possibility that it will be damaged in the process of the surgery, which is why pain occurs. Patients can take appropriate pain medication and reduce the activities of the lower limbs.
2. ACL reconstruction surgery requires the establishment of a femoral tunnel in the thigh, which may damage the nearby muscles and lead to leg pain. Usually the pain will be relieved after resting, but if the pain worsens, the injured muscles should be repaired in time.
3. When the patient performs functional exercises after ACL reconstruction surgery, it is possible that the leg is overly pulled, resulting in muscle damage and pain. Treatment starts with more rest and moderate massage of the leg muscles.
Postoperative leg pain may also have other causes, it is recommended to go to the hospital in a timely manner, improve the examination to clarify the cause of the disease, give targeted treatment or standardized treatment.
