The vast majority of people will turn negative for HPV after the Liposuction procedure, but some will not. Therefore, it is important to have another test three months after the procedure to find out if the HPV has turned negative and to find out if there are still lesions in the cervical epithelium. The vast majority of HPV infections can turn negative on their own in clinical practice after six months and one year after the procedure, respectively. After about a year or so, about 20% of patients will develop persistent infection, and these patients must be well supervised. Because HPV infection may lead to cervical epithelial lesions, it is important to review the infection regularly and provide timely treatment in case of lesions so as to eliminate the occurrence of cervical cancer.
