Moxibustion at the Tian Tu point has the efficacy and effect of resolving phlegm and relieving pharynx, and can be used to treat disorders of the lung system as well as the throat.
Tian Tu point is located on the Ren vein, which is the meeting point of the Ren and Yin Wei veins, and is situated in the anterior region of the neck, in the central part of the upper fossa of the sternum, on the anterior median line.
Moxibustion of Tian Tu acupoint can be used to treat diseases of the lung system, such as coughing up phlegm, shortness of breath, asthma, sore throat, chest pain, etc. Secondly, moxibustion of Tian Tu acupoint can also be used to treat diseases of the throat, such as prune nucleus qi (similar to pharyngeal dysphagia), galls qi (enlarged lumps on both sides of the laryngeal nodes in the front of the neck), and hoarseness of the voice.
Moxibustion of Tiantu acupoints should be operated by a clinician to avoid improper operation, which may cause localized infections and other phenomena.
