What’s the difference between Pat Chun Tang and Si Wu Tang?

The difference between Ba Zhen Tang and Si Wu Tang is the difference in drug composition and efficacy.
1. Eight Treasures Soup consists of Four Substances Soup plus Four Gentlemen Soup, specifically including Radix Codonopsis, Rhizoma Atractylodis Macrocephalae, Poria, Radix et Rhizoma Glycyrrhizae, Rhizoma Ligustici Chuanxiong, Radix Rehmanniae Praeparatae, Radix Paeoniae Alba, Radix Angelicae Sinensis, and is known for its effects of benefiting the qi and tonifying the blood (replenishing the qi and blood in the body).
It is clinically used for treating symptoms such as pale complexion, dizziness, tinnitus, weakness of limbs, shortness of breath and laziness in speech, palpitation of the heart (rapid heartbeat, often accompanied by panic) caused by deficiency of qi and blood.
2. Si Wu Tang is composed of Rhizoma Ligustici Chuanxiong, Radix Rehmanniae Praeparata, Radix Paeoniae Alba and Radix Angelicae Sinensis, which has the function of tonifying and activating blood, and is clinically used for treating symptoms such as pallor, dizziness and tinnitus caused by blood deficiency.
In summary, Bazhen Tang is composed of Si Wu Tang plus Si Jun Zi Tang, compared with Si Wu Tang, Bazhen Tang also adds the function of tonifying Qi, which is suitable for the symptoms of both Qi and Blood deficiency.
It should be noted that the adverse effects of the above formula are not yet clear, and those who are allergic to the above formula should be prohibited from using it; because it contains Chinese medicines that invigorate blood, it should be used with caution by menstruating women.
