What’s wrong with a hot throat?

Throat fever is an acute inflammation of the throat due to upper respiratory tract infection, causing discomfort due to congestion and edema of the throat, which belongs to external wind-heat. The patient has obvious dry, burning or painful sensation in the throat, which may be accompanied by other respiratory symptoms, such as cough, nasal congestion, runny nose, or mild head discomfort, generalized discomfort, or even fever symptoms. Patients are advised to drink plenty of water, eat as light a diet as possible, and avoid stimulating diets, such as smoking and drinking alcohol. Avoid activities that tend to aggravate pharyngeal congestion and edema, such as loud talking, crying, singing, etc.
