How to tell if your child has cerebral palsy

Whether a child has cerebral palsy can be determined by the child’s symptoms, physical examination, and auxiliary examination.
1. Symptoms: The main symptoms include less crying, quieter or more crying after birth, irritability, difficulty in breastfeeding, limb incoordination, abnormal muscle tone, and obvious delay in motor development, such as inability to lift the head from the prone position at the age of 3 months, inability to turn over at the age of 7 months, and inability to sit unaided at the age of 8 months.
2. Physical examination: abnormal muscle tone, tendon reflexes, stretching reflexes, speech or dysarthria may be seen.
3. Auxiliary examination: MRI, electroencephalogram, intelligence examination, hearing examination and vision examination may be used to assist judgment.
If your child develops abnormalities related to cerebral palsy, you should consult a doctor for timely diagnosis, active treatment and early improvement to promote recovery.
