An MRI of the brain alone cannot detect autism. The diagnosis of autism is based on the child’s developmental and behavioral characteristics, detailed history taking, and a thorough neuropsychiatric examination evaluation. Autism is a psychological disorder that cannot be detected by instruments alone, and there are no relevant lesions on a brain MRI. It requires a physical examination by a doctor to initially understand the patient’s growth and development, followed by a psychological assessment scale, hearing test, lead poisoning test, electroencephalogram, and so on, to further understand the condition, and metabolic disease screening and chromosome analysis, if necessary, to finally make a definitive diagnosis. Autism, also known as autism, usually starts slowly before the age of 3, and can be characterized by language developmental disorders, varying degrees of social disorders, narrowed interests, stereotyped behaviors and other symptoms, and in some cases, mental retardation. The cause of autism is still unclear and may be related to a combination of genetic and environmental factors. If you suspect that your child is suffering from autism, parents should bring your child to the doctor in time and actively cooperate with the doctor to improve the relevant examination and treatment.
