Radix Codonopsis pilosulae is beneficial to the lung, tonifying the spleen, generating body fluid and nourishing blood. It can be used in treating yellowish color, deficiency of qi and blood, palpitation, shortness of breath, fatigue and dizziness; deficiency of qi in the spleen and lungs, coughing and asthenia, low food intake and lassitude; shortness of breath due to thirst, injury of qi and fluid, and thirst due to internal heat (internal fever accompanied with symptoms such as excessive food, drink and urination). This product should not be used with veratrum, and the adverse effects are not clear.
Astragalus has the efficacy of consolidating the surface to stop sweating, tonifying Qi and elevating Yang, astringing sores and regenerating muscles (helping sores to heal faster and promoting the growth of new flesh), nourishing blood and generating fluids, inducing diuresis to reduce edema, etc. It can be used for conditions such as weak lung qi, coughing and shortness of breath, internal heat and thirst, deficiency in Qi and blood and prolonged ulceration without astringency. Attention to yin deficiency and hyperactivity of Yang, internal stagnation, surface solid evil and other certificates are not suitable for the use of this product, the adverse effects are not yet clear.
Ophiopogon has the effect of moistening the lung and nourishing yin, clearing the heart and removing vexation, and can be used for thirst and fluid injury, gastric yin insufficiency (insufficient yin fluid in the stomach), intestinal dryness and constipation, internal heat and thirst, yin deficiency and laborious coughing, dry and dry cough of the lungs, sore throat, and heartburn and insomnia. This product is contraindicated in cases of loose food (thin and unformed feces), deficiency of cold in the spleen and stomach, as well as exogenous wind-cold, etc. Adverse effects are not yet clear.
