What to do about lice on children’s heads

Children with lice on their heads are treated with general care, localized treatment and oral medication.
1. General care: the affected children can pick off the local hair, the used headscarf, pillowcase, comb should be sterilized. Pay attention to personal hygiene, avoid contact with lice patients.
2. Localized treatment: After washing the hair, 50% tincture of benzyl benzoate or 25% benzyl benzoate emulsion can be used topically to apply all over the hair.
3. Oral medication: Children who are not well treated with topical medication or who are severely infected can be treated with oral ivermectin and other insect repellents, which should be used with caution for children weighing less than 30 pounds or younger than 6 years of age.
