Precautions before treatment of chronic cholecystitis can be differentiated and handled by disease categories, including chronic calculous cholecystitis and chronic non-calculous cholecystitis, as follows:
1. Chronic stone cholecystitis: this type of patients due to gallbladder stones repeatedly stimulate the gallbladder and cause chronic inflammation, the primary treatment goal is to remove the stones. Surgery is the primary treatment for this type of cholecystitis, and patients should make good preoperative preparations, including bed rest, oral laxatives to empty the intestines, fasting and abstaining from food and drink for at least 8 hours, and relaxing to ensure adequate sleep.
2. Chronic non-stone cholecystitis: biliary stasis, viral and parasitic infections and improper diet are the causes of the disease, the treatment program is based on oral anti-inflammatory drugs, patients before, during and after treatment, should avoid fasting greasy, spicy and stimulating food, ensure that the daily drinking water is sufficient, do not overeat and drink, which may cause gallbladder spasm or acute cholecystitis attack.
Please follow the doctor’s instructions.
