Ear, nose and throat to which department to see

At present, most tertiary hospitals have divided ENT into three subspecialties, the first being otology, the second being rhinology, and the third being pharyngeal head and neck surgery. Generally speaking, if a patient has hearing loss, tinnitus, deafness, otitis media and other related diseases, it is generally recommended to visit an otology clinic for consultation. If the patient is suffering from rhinitis, allergic rhinitis, sinusitis, nasal polyps, nasal bleeding, nasal tumor and other related diseases, it is recommended that the patient visit the rhinology clinic. If the patient has pharyngitis, tonsillitis, acute epiglottitis, vocal fold polyps, vocal fold nodules, laryngeal cancer, hypopharyngeal cancer and other related diseases, the patient is advised to attend the pharyngeal head and neck surgery. Some patients who have neck diseases such as neck masses and thyroglossal cysts can also continue to be seen in the head and neck surgery department, and of course some hospitals do thyroid surgery in their head and neck surgery departments.
