Herniated thyroid cartilage can be treated by taking anti-inflammatory and anti-infective drugs or glucocorticoid hormones, while severe cases require surgery. There are many diseases that cause herniated thyroid cartilage, such as diseases of the thyroid system, infections, tumors, and disorders of their own cartilage growth. If a patient has a herniated thyroid cartilage due to swollen lymph nodes in the neck caused by infection with bacteria or viruses, routine blood tests can be performed and anti-infective drugs such as glucocorticoids and prednisone can be taken for treatment. If hyperthyroidism leads to enlargement of the thyroid gland and herniated thyroid cartilage or even compression of the trachea and esophagus, the symptoms of hyperthyroidism can be relieved by taking anti-thyroxine drugs, thus relieving the herniated thyroid cartilage, and if the cartilage is herniated due to tumor compression, surgical treatment can be performed.
