What is perineal pain in women?

If vaginal pain occurs after sexual intercourse, it may be due to the pain caused by the vaginal mucosa being injured during intercourse. If the vaginal pain is not preceded by sexual intercourse, it may be due to vaginitis, a disease caused by bacterial or pathogenic infections, or gynecological diseases such as vaginitis when estrogen levels are low. Vaginitis can lead to pain in the pubic area, itching, frequent urination and urinary urgency, etc. Women can go to the hospital to have a pubic ultrasound or a routine white belt test to determine the disease. In older women, pain in the vagina may be due to degeneration of the ovaries or thinning of the vaginal mucosa, which may cause bacterial invasion and inflammation leading to perineal pain.
