Thyroiditis is a disease in which the follicular structure of the thyroid gland is destroyed due to a variety of reasons, including autoimmunity, viral infection, bacterial or fungal infection, chronic sclerosis, radiation damage, granulomas, drugs, and trauma. According to the urgency of onset, it can be divided into acute, subacute and chronic thyroiditis. According to the cause of the disease, it can be divided into infectious, autoimmune and radiological thyroiditis. Different thyroiditis medications are used. 1. Hashimoto’s thyroiditis: If there is only goiter and no hypothyroidism, there is no need for treatment. Those with obvious goiter or hypothyroidism need to take levothyroxine replacement therapy. Surgery may be considered for those with significant compression symptoms that are not relieved by levothyroxine therapy. Those with thyrotoxicosis should be treated with beta-blockers. 2. Subacute thyroiditis: in mild cases, appropriate rest can be given to non-steroidal anti-inflammatory analgesic drugs, such as ibuprofen, celecoxib, etc., the course of treatment is about 2 weeks; the systemic symptoms are more serious, fever, thyroid enlargement, obvious pressure pain, glucocorticosteroids can be used. 3. Acute suppurative thyroiditis: antibiotic treatment is needed, such as penicillin and cephalosporin antibiotics. When the patient is diagnosed with thyroiditis, he should cooperate with the doctor in time to carry out the corresponding treatment, and use the medication under the guidance of the doctor.
