Whether or not a frontal bone fracture causes epilepsy is mainly based on the type of fracture, the degree of fracture, and the severity of the disease, and can not be compared together.
1. Fracture type: if there is an open fracture, the skin and mucous membranes are severely damaged, the fracture site is contaminated, which is easy to cause intracranial infections, and the amount of bleeding is high, easy to form intracranial hematoma compression of brain tissue, which can lead to epilepsy. If the fracture of the frontal bone is a depressed fracture, the integrity of the dura mater is damaged, compression of brain tissue, which can cause epilepsy.
2. Degree of fracture: If the degree of fracture is high and there is a comminuted fracture, the integrity of the skull will be damaged, the bleeding will increase, and the chance of infection will increase, which may cause epilepsy.
3. Condition: If the frontal bone fracture is combined with dural rupture, intracranial hematoma or cortical contusion, the probability of epilepsy will increase.
If the patient has a frontal bone fracture, it is recommended that the patient follow the doctor’s instructions and actively cooperate with the treatment, do not be negligent so as not to delay or aggravate the condition.
