A bump inside the eyelid that doesn’t hurt or itch may be caused by a blepharocyst. Blepharophalangeal cyst, also known as chalazion, is a sterile chronic granulomatous inflammation. When the outlet of the blepharoplasty gland is obstructed, the gland’s secretions accumulate in the lid, causing chronic irritation to the surrounding tissues and forming a round lump under the skin of the eyelid. These bumps are usually painless and itchy. Small, asymptomatic bumps require no special treatment and can sometimes absorb on their own. Larger ones can be facilitated by hot compresses or local injections of glucocorticoids such as prednisolone. If they do not go away for a long time, they can be surgically removed. The above treatments should be carried out under the guidance of doctors. It is recommended that patients go to the ophthalmology department of regular hospitals for consultation, to clarify the cause of the disease and follow the doctor’s instructions for treatment.
