Dermoscopy testing is generally not cross-infectious with viruses. Dermoscopy is a non-invasive examination tool, the essence of which is a skin microscope that can be magnified dozens of times. When it comes into contact with intact skin, it is a low-risk item, resulting in a very low risk of infection, and diagnostic and therapeutic instruments that are reused in hospitals are cleaned and then sterilized or disinfected, so dermoscopy is generally not a cross-infection of viruses. However, if dermoscopy is performed under special circumstances such as skin wounds or very low immunity, there is a possibility of cross-infection with viruses. If there is a wound on the skin, the doctor will not perform dermoscopy in the wound area; if the immunity is very low, the doctor will also take appropriate sterilization measures. Therefore, under normal circumstances, patients do not need to worry too much about cross-infection of viruses during dermoscopy.
