The exact amount of Eugenol depends on the patient’s age, heart condition, and thyroid function. For normal hypothyroid patients, the starting amount of Eugenol is usually one tablet, half an hour before meals every day, and the thyroid function will be rechecked after 4 weeks of taking it. If the thyroid function results are not normal, you can continue to increase the dosage to 1.5-2 tablets and then recheck. For adult patients with hypothyroidism, two tablets of Eugenol daily is basically sufficient. For elderly patients with hypothyroidism combined with coronary artery disease, the dosage of Eugenol is relatively small. Excessive application of Eugenol can cause an increase in heart rate, aggravate myocardial oxygen consumption and induce coronary artery disease, angina pectoris and even heart attack. Therefore, for such patients, the starting amount of Eugenol is usually half a tablet, and if there are no uncomfortable symptoms after two weeks of taking it, the amount will be increased to one tablet. For such patients, one and a half tablets per day is sufficient for basic replacement therapy.
