What Thrombocytopenia Means

Thrombocytopenia means that the body may be suffering from some kind of disease, which is commonly seen in severe infections, autoimmune diseases, thrombocytopenic purpura, aplastic anemia, and so on. 1. Serious infections: such as pneumonia, lung abscess, etc. 2. Autoimmune diseases: such as rheumatoid arthritis, systemic lupus erythematosus and other diseases, can cause thrombocytopenia. 3. Thrombocytopenic purpura: due to thrombocytopenia, it can cause skin petechiae and ecchymosis, nosebleed, gum bleed, oral mucosa and tongue bleed. 4. Aplastic anemia: Bone marrow hematopoietic failure due to various causes, resulting in a decrease in whole blood cells. In addition to the above, thrombocytopenia may also be caused by drugs (such as anti-tumor drugs, immunity-regulating drugs) or leukemia and other malignant diseases of the blood system. If the test result shows thrombocytopenia, it is recommended to identify the cause of the disease as early as possible and carry out standardized treatment to reduce the adverse effects of the disease.
