Dilatation of the intestinal tubes to accumulate gas may be the result of intestinal dysfunction or intestinal obstruction.
Intestinal dysfunction can occur when the intestinal peristalsis slows down or speeds up, thus causing functional abdominal distension, abdominal pain or diarrhea.
Functional abdominal distension can be seen when X-ray examination of the intestinal tube can be seen obvious dilatation of the manifestation of gas. Clinical symptoms of such patients are usually abdominal distension, hiccups, belching, less gas, constipation and other manifestations.
Patients with intestinal obstruction who are considered to have paralytic intestinal obstruction may show dilatation of the entire intestinal tract with pneumoperitoneum.
If it is mechanical intestinal obstruction, such as intestinal tumor blockage, intestinal adhesions and other causes of intestinal obstruction, it can be manifested as obvious expansion of the intestinal tube above the obstruction and gas accumulation, which is usually also manifested by obvious paroxysmal abdominal pain and bloating, nausea and vomiting, reduced anal defecation or cessation of defecation and bowel movement, and so on.
Dilatation of the intestinal tube and accumulation of gas may also have other causes, it is recommended to go to the hospital in a timely manner, complete the examination to determine the cause of the disease, and then give targeted treatment or therapy.
