Many people have heard of lumbar disc herniation, but few have known the causative factors!

Many people with back and leg pain suspect that they have a herniated lumbar disc. Through Baidu or WeChat we will also learn some common sense: the spine will gradually degenerate as people get older, and a herniated lumbar disc compresses the nerves and causes back and leg pain. However, the vast majority of people do not know that the main cause of lumbar disc herniation is: excessive pressure within the lumbar intervertebral disc. The posterior side of the disc is relatively thin, and the strength of the fibers in the posterior part of the fibrous ring has been determined to be less than 100 kp/cm². Long-term excessive internal pressure in the intervertebral disc can easily lead to rupture of the annulus fibrosus and induce the appearance of lumbar disc herniation. As shown above, these people are most likely to have lumbar disc herniation. At the same time: improper sitting posture, increased abdominal pressure, sudden weight bearing, pregnancy, cold and moisture are common factors that lead to increased internal pressure in the intervertebral disc and induce lumbar herniation. Prevention of lumbar disc herniation starts with correct posture: In addition, sneezing with a slightly finished knee can share the abdominal pressure and the pressure on the spine. One-minute self-test of your lumbar vertebrae: ① pain on one side of the waist, radiating through the hip to the back of the thigh, up to the calf and foot, sometimes there is numbness, aggravated by coughing; ② after an acute lumbar sprain (i.e., flashback), the phenomenon of walking with a limp; ③ when lying down to sleep, the pain in the back can not be straight, you need to use hands or pillows to support, or sleep on your side; ④ back pain, sitting down to rest pain can not be relieved, side rest can be relieved; ④ back pain, sitting down to rest pain. The pain can be relieved by resting on the side; ⑤ at a point on the left and right side of the spine in the lower back, there is obvious pain when pressing down; ⑥ positive straight leg raise test: the person being tested lies flat, extends the knee, and the other person raises the leg, and the lumbar disc herniation patient can have lumbar and hip pain when raised within 60°, which is called a positive straight leg raise test. If you have any one of the above 6 symptoms, it is recommended to go to the hospital for examination, and the degree of lumbar degeneration can be checked by CT.
