What treatment is needed for Meniere’s syndrome

Meniere’s syndrome, i.e. Meniere’s disease, can be treated with general treatment, medication, tympanic injection and surgery, and vestibular rehabilitation according to its triggers and the degree of the disease.
1. General treatment: appropriate exercise, improve immunity and endurance, low-salt and low-fat diet, prohibit smoking, alcohol and strong tea. During the attack period, it is necessary to lie down and stay in the dark room to avoid environmental stimuli.
2. Drug treatment: acute stage: choose metoclopramide and other antiemetic agents, diazepam and other sedatives to sedate and stop vomiting; anticholinergic drugs to inhibit vagal excitation, such as scopolamine; vasodilators and calcium antagonists, such as flunarizine, betahistine and so on, to improve the circulation of the inner ear; glucocorticosteroids, such as methylprednisolone, etc, to reduce the edema of the inner ear.
Chronic stage: apply vasodilator drugs such as betahistine, etc.; diuretic and dehydrating agents such as chlorthalidone, etc., to reduce the membrane labyrinthine effusion and improve the symptoms.
3. Tympanic injection: Gentamicin tympanic injection can be carried out for those without hearing in order to chemically remove the vestibule.
4. Surgical treatment: If long-term conservative treatment is ineffective, endolymphatic sac decompression, labyrinthine labyrinthine resection, semicircular canal tamponade and vestibular neurectomy can be applied according to the condition of surgical treatment.
5. Vestibular rehabilitation therapy: it is suitable for patients with Meniere’s disease who have stable and no fluctuating vestibular function damage. It includes general vestibular rehabilitation therapy, individualized vestibular rehabilitation therapy and balance rehabilitation training with virtual reality.
When it is necessary to treat Meniere’s disease, it is necessary to actively consult a doctor for a systematic examination, and after a clear diagnosis, follow the doctor’s instructions to standardize the diagnosis and treatment.
